The Indian Social Service Community (ISSC) is a prominent non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Gandhidham, Kutch, India, dedicated to empowering women and children. Established 2006, ISSC has played a pivotal role in addressing critical social issues, promoting community development, and improving the lives of marginalized populations

Mission

Our mission is to empower women and children through a range of initiatives, including the formation and support of Self Help Groups (SHGs), education programs, awareness campaigns, and skill development opportunities. We are committed to enhancing the quality of life, ensuring gender equality, and promoting education and social awareness.

Objectives

SHG Formation and Support

ISSC focuses on creating and sustaining SHGs, initially sponsoring programs such as professional tailoring, paper cup making, etc. These programs are envisioned to evolve into micro-enterprises, cooperatives, and federations.

 
Awareness Training

ISSC conducts crucial awareness programs on diverse subjects, such as HIV/AIDS, tobacco, drug and alcohol abuse, health and fitness, industrial safety, and worker safety, targeting both industrial workers and supervisory staff.

Foundational and Adult Education

ISSC is dedicated to informal education, foundational and adult education, with an emphasis on women’s rights, decision-making, hygiene, and nutrition.

 
Community Network Building

ISSC endeavors to establish extensive networks of urban and rural communities, including Below Poverty Line (BPL), Above Poverty Line (APL), and HIV/AIDS-affected groups.
